Go ye into all the world and pamper

Cucumber

I’m really interested in like going around people’s homes, or during University society/club events or what ever to…

You know those woman, consultants should I day, that basically go around to people’s homes and they’d have like a party where 6-8 people come along and they give facials or samples of products for your face fir example. Well… I’ve decided that I want to do that. Use it as a way of reaching different people in the places where they are at. Its fun ;) and you meet people

The only problem I have is deciding weather I should do make up i.e. give advice about what colour goes best - clothing as well as make up and then spend the night experimenting with colours

Or

I could join an organisation that already exists “Temple Spa” (which I am amazed by not just for the ingredients but… The people who make them basically design them to be acts of worship. For example, you might have a facial scrub and they’d give it a name that’s one of Gods attributes. In the box they’d also be a like word of wisdom which will tell you about “cleansing”, emotion/spiritual and then relate that to how that effects your physical - your face etc. it might all sound a bit strange but they really do a good job at it. It’s exciting and weird at the same time). The consultant gives individual skin advice etc

One way or another I’d have to earn something to get more products etc. and I’m a student who doesn’t know when next I’ll have any form of income coming in so… yea

Maybe I should write a plan and see what people think

Funny I should mosey over here and find you talking about this subject. I just got home from the spa. I got a gift certificate from Roger (hubby) and just used it today. I feel like a noodle :)

My sister is a makeup artist. She does parties like this and a lot of brides and bridesmaids. She loves what she does, custom blending foundation at your table so like your skin you can’t even tell you’re wearing makeup. She does great eyes too. She has a ministry passion to do makeup for what society would call the “unlovely”, those with scars, skin defects, acne etc. and she has a special place in her heart for high school girls that are persecuted for their looks. (My sister Angela is an amazing woman!) The possibilities for serving are just endless in this avenue Chantelle! Gwen

I’d really like to find out more about how Angela started. Does she blog? or she’s not into the technical stuff. or maybe she does email? my e-addy’s mabelane@gmail.com. I’m definately going to head in this direction. i feel like dancing around and singing “the hills are alive with the sound of music…” I just dont want it to take me months before I actually start doing stuff

She emails Chantelle. I’ll send her an email this week. I’m excited for you. She has just begun doing this the last year (or two?). She just dove in though and traveled all over for as much training as she could get. I’m sure she would be happy to talk to you about it. She also represents a nutrition supplement line that was developed my Merck (Fortune 500 company) Pharmaceuticals but they didn’t develop them because there wasn’t enough money in it, but the lab trials for these nutrients are amazing. Anyway, enough about that, I’ll give her a jingle and pass along your email in case this is a God connection.

You are kind in your comments about my family. Most of them are guide posts, I’m more like a roll of caution tape warning people no to step in what I just did ha!ha!

Hey Chantelle! I’m well excited about the make-up party idea. I know loads of people who’d really want to come along. I know people who do parties for Virgin Vie. There’s still the pressure to buy stuff though isn’t there? May be it’s a start though. Liking the Temple Spa idea. Keep dreaming and planning. You are a visionary and your Ideation strength is such a huge blessing to our small community and through that, the city of Sheffield!! Keep dreaming….

about your spa thing.. I am sure its going to be fun but you know that I don’t do them type of things….
People always think that because they have a big idea in their heads.. They usually think its going to bring about large results.. “in their heads” and are often surprised when in reality - nothing happens - its almost like they have wasted their time..

The main reason is that they forget the golden rule of research -
Golden rule.. Forget what you think is going to work because this does not mean a damn thing.. Infact it will be helpful for you to think it is not going to work..
This will help you from being falsely optimistic.
What matters is what the customer / audience / other person thinks is going to work.. If you get this right, then you will reap the required rewards…

In my opinion - You think the spa thing is a fantastic idea.. However u are so optimistic about this that you have forgotten to consider all the other aspects of it..
No 1 - The time it takes.. You are going to be with one person. How about considering an event that involves more than one person at a time..
No 2 - you are going to be trying to do this for free and would have to deal with rejection..
No 3 - Who is your audience. Do you know the people that you are going to be speaking to / inviting- giving the spa
No 4 - What is the mindset of your audience - do they actually need the spa (appreciate it) or not (will think this woman is just trying to burn time)
No 5 - Do they actually want to become Christians ( high probability that your efforts will reap required rewards)

If I was you, I would probably design a leaflet that contains a maximum of 6 - 7 questions that I would ask non-christians everyday.
Like why don’t you like Christianity
Do you think Christians are boring
What kind of event do you want to come to. What restaurants , music do you like
How is your social life - Do you think Christianity can help.
How is your family life —
Are you married do you have a boyfriend - How is your relationship going..

If for example - someone says all the above are fine except that her relationship is terrible… Then you can use this as an entry point and tell her how Christianity has helped your own relationships.

If the consensus is that Christianity is boring.. Tell her that you go to parties etc but it just gives you more confidence and limits the negative things that you can do etc..

Obviously - you would take e-mail addresses, contact details - build up a contact list etc.. If 80% of people that you interview have a bad relationship with their parents - then you will organise a seminar to talk about this and invite these people to the seminar or whatever etc…

********You can send them story e-mails from time to time of real life situations that may help them….

In the case above - it is not you “chantelle” that has suggested the seminar….. Its your customer / audience that have indirectly suggested the seminar..

When you meet people, you are not convincing them there to become xtians - you just build a database of non-christians who need help-
This is going to be my approach - if I was you.. But yes the spa thing sounds nice but I think its maximum input - minimum output situation.

You spend a lot of time on one person that may not even become a Christian…. I would prefer to spend little time on many people… In this way my probability increases and out of 50 people 7 become Christians the is better that out of 1 person..

I am sure you understand where I am coming from..

But don’t forget… This is just advice.. you still have to do what you feel is correct…
